At resonate, we realize that no matter how gorgeous our facilities are, no matter how impressive our equipment list is, or no matter how tasty our chocolate chip cookies are, it is our staff that truly makes the resonate experience as unique as it is. Over the years, we have been blessed to have employees who bring heart and soul to what might otherwise be a clinical experience.

John Van Nest is the owner of resonate. After studying with noted Chicago jazz guitarist, Stu Pearce, and attending the Berklee School of Music in Boston, John moved to Los Angeles area and took a position at Allen Zentz Recording (as detailed on the History page of this site). John is an accomplished Engineeer and Mixer, most recently mixing projects for R&B legends, The Emotions and Deniece Williams, working with Erykah Badu on a television performance, and mixing chart topping Country singles for Trace Adkins and Rebecca Lynn Howard. . . . . partial discography

Terri Wong, originally a native of Burbank, is resonate's Studio Manager and served in a similar capacity at Image Recording, as well. Prior to that, Terri was an Engineer on the Image Recording staff for several years, so the two of us are now celebrating seventeen years together. Terri's enthusiasm, her attention to detail, her warmth and her inate ability to make each client feel right at home with us make Terri a most valuable member of our team. Quite frankly, resonate would not be the same without her, and hopefully, we'll never have to find that out firsthand!

Ross Garner joined us in April, 2007, and while he was taken on originally as a Runner, Ross has quickly become a tremendous all-around asset to us. When he isn't getting the building prepared for clients, he's helping Terri in the office or he's helping a client get CD's or hard drives prepared for shipping or he's helping the boys in the Control Rooms. His Control Room chops seem to be getting better by the day, so we're expecting great things from him. He brings great passion to his work with us, and we are thrilled to have found such a well rounded worker!

Simon Sampath-Kumar, originally from Texas by way of England and hired on in Spring, 2008, has followed Ross' footsteps, progressing from Runner to Assistant Engineer and all-around Valuable Player. Simon has quite a way with ProTools and musical electronics, and he's making great contributions to our Voiceover work. Most recently, Simon was working with Mixer Toby Wright on various projects. Simon is a key member of our staff, and we're very proud to have found him.
